ECCLESIASTES (Just a little introduction)
My favorite book of the bible is Ecclesiastes. And that's why I'll like to start this little series. We see how wide and vast this book; I believe that the bible is a whole story that leads to one thing: Jesus.
Every single book of the Bible!. And Ecclesiastes shows that in a beautiful way. So for the beginning, I'll like to start with Understand the book of Ecclesiastes.
- THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BOOK -
Although we know that the paternity about who wrote the book is not clear, in this study about the book I would like to keep the perspective that the teacher and the author are totally different people (for reasons that we can observe in the last parts of the book).
We must bear in mind that the phrase "Under the sun" is the most important key to understanding Ecclesiastes. The fact that this appears 29 times, indicates the general perspective of the author. All his great project is carried out with his own thoughts, without the divine help.
If these things are not continually kept in mind, the book presents tremendous difficulties. It seems to contradict the rest of Scripture, to teach rare doctrines, and to defend a questionable kind of morality (to name a few).
But if we remember that Ecclesiastes is a compendium of wisdom not divine, but human, then we will understand why although some conclusions are true, others are only half true and others are not in the least.
Knowing this we are ready to study this incredible book
Joel Abraham.
